The Shelbyville Times-Gazette reports in this article on the Saturday slaying of local businessman Fermin Estrada, who was shot by police while at a backyard barbecue with family and friends. Estrada had been shooting a gun; police say he had fired in their direction, but his family insists that he was celebrating and had aimed only at the ground."Fermin had been cooking fajitas and making tacos crisp on a grill because classmates from school, years ago in Mexico, came here from their home in Dalton, Ga., to see Fermin, his family, the land he bought and the house he owned, relatives said."
"I am so worn out, I cannot cry anymore," said Fermin's son William Estrada, who will now become the head of the Estrada family.
The Tennessean reports in this article that the matter is under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
