City Paper praises court intepreter role

The feature story on the front page of Monday's City Paper was this article about Lee Hockaday, Davidson County's full-time, certified court interpreter. In this editorial in today's City Paper, the editorial board praises Davidson County for providing access to justice through a full-time interpreter:

"[N]either race, citizenship nor language can be an obstacle to justice."

"Encouraging immigrants to learn English needs to be a priority. But so, too, does ensuring that in reaching for perfection we do not trample on what is good."
