"Tennessee Ahora": WKRN launches Hispanic blog

Bilingual text, video clips in English

Nashville's ABC affiliate WKRN-Channel 2 has launched a Hispanic blog called TennesseeAhora.com.

TennesseeAhora.com features posts by WKRN videojournalist Amy Napier Viteri and WKRN weekend anchor Christine Maddela, who is interviewed in today's Hispanic Nashville Notebook (here). The posts are in both Spanish and English, and there are also links to video reports about the Hispanic members of the Nashville community.

Since as early as April 2005, WKRN has been creating and promoting blogs as part of its news strategy (stories here and here), and web traffic to WKRN blogs now exceeds traffic to the station's main news site (story here). More than 21 WKRN blogs (listed here) cover specialized subjects such as the weather, politics, sports, real estate and faith. One of those specialized blogs is NashvilleIsTalking.com, which focuses on the growing universe of Nashville blogs and is considered the most comprehensive web site on that subject.
